School Counseling Program

Aakar’s School Mental Health Program raises awareness of mental health among students and the people around them while reducing stigma and preconceptions about mental health. We promote safe mental health practices by providing a safe atmosphere where people may practice and freely discuss their mental health, as well as assisting them with self-care activities and different personality-enhancing skills and methods. We assist them in developing the ability to recognize mental health concerns and seek care independently. We promote mental health awareness, understanding, and action among young adults.

Individual Counseling

Aakar Mental Health Counseling offers individual counseling, in which a skilled professional assists clients in exploring and addressing their emotional, psychological, and behavioral problems. In one-on-one sessions, a therapist works with the patient to recognize and analyze their challenges, develop coping mechanisms, and design a strategy for dealing with them. To help the client gain an understanding of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and learn new skills to manage their problems successfully, the therapist may integrate a variety of techniques and interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, or solution-focused therapy.

Group Counseling

We support group therapy in which several individuals are treated by at least one therapist simultaneously. A trained mental health professional guides a group of persons with similar concerns or issues to discuss their problems and provide mutual support. Members of the group therapy session exchange experiences, emotions, feelings, and insights while receiving feedback and benefiting from one another’s viewpoints. Depending on the type of therapy, group sizes change. Couples therapy, for instance, is a sort of group therapy that primarily treats romantic partners, and it only has two participants. In contrast, some groups, like those for substance abuse, may include between 8 and 10 participants in a single session. Group therapy has a scheduled schedule of sessions that may emphasize a particular subject or idea, such as stress management, anger management, or self-esteem. Discussions, role-playing games, and exercises to solve problems are just a few of the activities that could be included in the sessions.

Online Counseling

Online counseling, often known as e-counseling or teletherapy, is a type of mental health counseling that takes place online using virtual meetings, phone calls, or messaging applications. Clients can get treatment from the comfort of their own homes without having to travel to a therapist’s office. During online therapy sessions, Aakar’s counselor and client connect via video or audio. Clients may see and hear us, and vice versa. Online counseling is an excellent and practical choice for many seeking mental health care. It can offer a practical and affordable substitute for conventional in-person counseling and give access to high-quality mental health care to individuals.
